This Mottahedeh China Creamware Lobed Box features a rose finial that will be a lovely accent piece or serving dish on any tabletop. During the last years of the ancient régime of Louis XVI, a ceramics factory was established in Paris to produce the delicate creamware designs in fashion at the time. In 1786, under the patronage of Louis-Philippe-Joseph Duc d’Orleans, the company established itself on Rue Amelot in Pont-aux-Choux. Mottahedeh’s reproductions from the Louvre’s Musée des Arts Décoratifs include Bird Tureens and the Rose Box and capture the refinement and detail of the antique originals.
